The school committee voted 4-1 for the policy. Monitors will be installed in school offices and the video will be fed to the Foxboro Police Department, where officers can access the video if a security issue or emergency arises.   • July 21, 2013 Village surveillance cameras spark debate in New York People around the world recently marked 1984 author George Orwell’s birthday by placing party hats on surveillance cameras. The book had jumped to the bestseller list after revelations about the breadth of domestic surveillance by the NSA became public.   • July 21, 2013 Security cameras stolen from Virginia school Police are looking for a suspect or suspects tampered with the air conditioning units. Janice Clark with the City of Portsmouth, Va., said someone climbed onto the roof at Victory Elementary School and tampered with the air conditioning units.   • July 14, 2013 Up to 600 security cameras coming to Washington schools The Everett County School District of Washington will be installing 400 to 600 new cameras in hallways, parking lots and most other public areas, but not where individuals would expect privacy like in classrooms, bathrooms and locker rooms.
